Job description
The Maintenance Supervisor or Chief Operating Engineer is responsible for leading the maintenance team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment and infrastructure. This includes overseeing maintenance activities, driving process improvements, and managing both the team and projects. The role also involves ensuring compliance with safety, quality standards, and site engineering requirements.Shift – Days 6am-2:30pm (*flexibility for OT + weekends as needed)

– Lead maintenance team in executing preventative maintenance and repairs for all plant equipment.
– Continuously improve maintenance systems and operations.
– Coordinate work for skilled trades (millwrights, electricians, shift engineers) in a 24/7 environment.
– Oversee plant utilities (steam boilers, refrigeration, HVAC, etc.) and ensure compliance with TSSA/ESA standards.
– Manage parts inventory, ensure safety compliance, and oversee contractor work.
– Provide support for capital projects and work with the corporate engineering team.
– Assist with budget management and maintenance cost control.
– Train and develop maintenance staff with a focus on continuous improvement.
– Communicate daily maintenance activities to supervisors and operators.Qualifications
– Education/Certifications: Mechanical/Engineering Technology degree or diploma – 433a/442a license or Certified 2nd Class Engineer from TSSA (*asset)
– Experience: Minimum 5 years in a similar role within the food/beverage industry.
– Skills: Strong communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
– Experience with CMMS MP2, MS Office, and work coordination.
– Flexibility to work OT or weekends as neededSummary
