The incumbent will be a critical member of the Balance Sheet Management team and will support the processes that provide capital relevant information to Executive Management to assist them in making strategic decisions that impact the Bank. This will require the incumbent to build and maintain appropriate MIS that is integrated with other information used for decision-making purposes. A key requirement of this role will be to support the Director in responding to management requests for capital related analysis/information, on an as-required and time-sensitive basis.Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Prepare and improve elements of the Bank’s Annual Capital Plan, Monthly Forecasts, Enterprise Wide Stress Test, and Five Year Outlook by obtaining input from relevant stakeholders and performing analysis.
  • Prepare and improve monthly reports on risk-weighted assets (RWA) and balance sheet/leverage usage by business lines, including explanation of variances vs. Plan or Forecast, and prepare return on capital metrics. Support disclosure of same in Blue Book, Quarterly/Annual reports, and Supplemental Capital Package.
  • Communicate with and support business lines Finance teams on usage of capital, changes in business activities, and capital initiatives.
  • Maintain and improve the Bank’s model of foreign exchange impact on capital ratios (CET1 and leverage).
  • Assist the Director with the preparation of the Bank’s annual Globally Systemically Important Banks (G-SIB) indicator requirements and reporting.
  • Develop knowledge base of Basel III and leverage rules and assist in the development of processes used in forward looking MIS.
  • Assist the Director on project-work, capital initiatives, documentation, and other deliverables to OSFI and/or Senior Management, on an as-required basis.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • University degree in Finance / Business / Economics.
  • Recognized accounting or CFA/FRM designation.
  • 3 to 5+ years’ experience in banking industry.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Power BI, and/or Alteryx.
  • Knowledge of capital management concepts (Basel III, risk-weighted assets, etc.).
