Are you looking for a new and challenging opportunity? We are looking for a Manager of Business Solutions to be responsible for leveraging technology to enable the organization’s future-state business capabilities, which can enable or alter business processes or practices that, in turn, drive the organization’s targeted business outcomes. - Leading and manage the Business Solutions department including Programmers, Analysts, Database Administrators & Contractors.
- Providing thought leadership and recommendations to senior leadership and executives on technology solutions, solution planning and transformational initiatives.
- Conducting regular performance evaluations for the business solutions team members, providing coaching and professional development opportunities.
- Leading and manage the Enterprise Solutions team to enable business capabilities through enterprise applications such as Oracle E-Business Suite, ServiceNow, OpenText.
- Mentoring, coaching and planning training activities for Enterprise Solutions team members to ensure their skills are kept current for an ever-changing enterprise.
- Engaging with the Business and Business Relationship Management team to plan, coordinate, and enable new functionalities through Enterprise Solutions
- Leading and manage the Business Analytics and Reporting team to enable data driven decision making across the entire CNL organization through a robust data warehouse environment with secure, clean and trusted data available to the corporate reporting systems.
- Mentoring, coaching and planing training activities for Business Analytics & Reporting team members to ensure their skills are kept current for an ever-changing data analytics landscape.
- Engaging with the business and IM Governance team to ensure that data is accurately categorized, secured and made available in a sustainable manner to extract maximum value from the data captured at CNL.
- Designing, leading and executing on ITIL capabilities through various functions within the IM/T organization.
- Overseeing and execute on Incident, Problem and Change Management
- Providing training and coaching to the Business Solutions team members on proper use of these ITIL functions, monitor progress and metrics and track and trend SLA targets to ensure efficiency.
- Highlighting how digital business initiatives will potentially impact the enterprise’s critical financial metrics and economic architectures.
- Engaging key business stakeholders to facilitate both strategy and innovation planning.
- Collaborating with stakeholders involved in digital strategy and digital innovation to develop an IT investment roadmap.
- Reviewing the organization’s digital strategy and how the organization currently approaches digital innovation.
- Creating deliverables that illustrate how to strategically move the business forward.
- Working with enterprise architects and key organizational stakeholders to define a strategic plan for leveraging integrated business architecture as part of the enterprise architecture.
- Participating in enterprise strategy development, including environmental analysis, opportunity identification, value cases and business innovation portfolio development.
- Defining a clear plan and governance for ensuring the business architecture work is in lock step with the other architecture viewpoints.
- Providing strategic consultation to assigned line-of-business (LOB) customers in defining or designing business capabilities, processes, functions and organizational structures, as well as in researching, identifying and internally marketing, and enabling technologies based on business and end-user requirements.
- Using business architecture tools and techniques, including strategy on a page, strategic planning, business model canvas, disruptions and trends, balance scorecard, economical modeling, risks and interdependencies, process models, business capability modeling, ecosystems modeling, customer and user profiling, journey maps, and human-centric design.
- Participating in solution architecture development, including business architecture, information architecture, application portfolio and technical architecture.
- Facilitating agreement on organizational work models and processes to meet business requirements.
- Consulting with business-facing projects and maintain knowledge of their progress.
- Collaborating with the program management office on reporting project status, issues, risks and benefits.
- Seeking ways to apply new technology to, and reuse existing technology for, business processes. Research and provide information on technical trends. Assess near-term needs, using structured interview processes, to establish business priorities. Consult with technical subject matter experts and develop alternative technical solutions. Advise on options, risks, costs versus benefits, and impact on other business processes and system priorities.
- Developing, motivating and directing staff to create and operation in a team environment.
- Supporting the development of gap analysis and/or IT investment roadmaps.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems or related discipline, or equivalent and extensive related project experience;
- Seven or more years of experience combining multiple disciplines, such as technical leadership, business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database design or management or operations in a multitier environment
- Management experience in one or more of the following areas: strategic planning, leadership, business relationship management and business process management
- A minimum of 2-5 years’ managing or supervising multi-disciplinary information technology teams, consistently showing good technical and financial decision-making
- Experience with performance management (performance appraisals, corrective action, etc.) is highly preferred.
- Experience recruiting, interviewing and selecting candidates is an asset;
- Experience in managing and/or supervising in a matrixed environment is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with staff and customers covering a variety of backgrounds and functions.
- High motivation to foster staff development and continuously improve processes, procedures, customer value, and quality.
- Requires strong human resources skills, ability to listen and quickly address human resources issues, motivate staff to achieve high levels of professionalism to ensure business alignment of business objectives at all levels of the operation.
- Knowledge and understanding of different types of business and operating models (existing, new, emerging and hybrid)
- Knowledge of existing, new and emerging technologies and being able to practically them to new business designs and business models
- In-depth experience with business transformation and process redesign methods
- Knowledge in all aspects of designing and constructing business processes, functions and organizational structures
- Comprehensive knowledge of facilitation and organization change management
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts and theories for a variety of projects
- Experience leading multidiscipline, high-performance work teams
- Exhibited skills in leading program management efforts involving the coordination of resources and goals across multiple related projects
- Experience developing and monitoring delivery of efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, valuation and metrics development
- Exposure and understanding of existing, new and emerging technologies, and processing environment
- Exceptional soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
- Strong leadership skills

- Strong understanding of the Software Delivery Life Cycle and various project delivery models (RAD/JAD/Waterfall/Agile) and when to apply them.
Security clearance eligibility required: Level 2 Secret which has a minimum requirement of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom. Location of Work – Hybrid
- This role is based out of CNL’s Chalk River site, however, subject to the terms of this agreement, the primary work location will be remote. The role will require some regular and frequent attendance at the Chalk River site. The schedule and frequency will be determined by discussions with the manager as well as internal client and project needs. CNL may require travel from time to time, as necessary.
