The Community Impact & Philanthropy team sits under the Sustainability & Social Impact team with a goal to effectively address how McDonald’s applies our philanthropic resources including financial contributions, volunteer efforts, food and in-kind contributions to deliver measurable impact, over time, on three strategic outcome areas: Supporting Families (RMHC), Times of Need, and Opportunity EmploymentThe Manager, Community Impact & Philanthropy will provide critical project management in bringing McDonald’s global Community Impact & Philanthropy strategy to life including supporting the execution and management of charitable giving efforts and key NGO partnerships. Reporting to the Director, Global Community Impact & Philanthropy, this role is a unique opportunity for an experienced project manager with a positive track record of working collaboratively with key team members in the corporate social responsibility, community engagement and/or philanthropy sectors.Core Responsibilities

  • Manage signature Corporate philanthropic initiatives (i.e., Chicago Community Impact Grants program) including informing strategic direction for the initiative(s), identifying gaps in existing programs and make recommendations for improvements and managing grantee partner relationships.
  • Track and measure grantee activities and deliverables, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure goals for philanthropic initiatives are met.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders and vendors to track, measure, and assess corporate philanthropic initiatives efforts to ensure timely delivery of internal goals and objectives.
  • Support the management of the McDonald’s relationship with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) and ensure all related deliverables are met annually.
  • Lead efforts related to the brand’s Opportunity Employment efforts including informing strategic direction, grantee partnership management, McDonald’s Global System alignment, tracking and reporting.
  • Build strong partnerships and coalitions across McDonald’s Global System partners, providing opportunities for community impact partnerships, convenings and catalyzing the McDonald’s System
  • Manage global corporate charitable contributions governance and decision-making process ensuring effective system socialization, compliance and updates as needed.
  • Lead the development and internal distribution of quarterly Community Impact & Philanthropy team and market team updates and recaps.
  • Work cross functionally to project manage the ESG Reporting process for the Community Impact & Philanthropy team.
  • Work cross functionally to ensure alignment on all Community Impact & Philanthropy team communications as needed.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working directly with corporate philanthropic programs, collaborator partnerships, non-profit and/or other philanthropy-related experience preferred (Strong preference for candidates with background in CSR working within a corporate structure)
  • Strong project management experience, data analysis skills, organization, critical thinking, time management and effective troubleshooting
  • Strong communications skills with the ability to influence.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong ability to successfully manage and cultivate relationships with diverse partners and work collaboratively with a multitude of internal and external collaborators.
  • Team based approach and ability to work independently across global, virtual and cross-functional teams; Purpose driven behavior.
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing needs and priorities.
  • Track and stay up to date with CSR-related trends/research and regulatory issues and provide best practice guidance to help modify and enhance the brand’s strategies.
