Requisition ID: 210054Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.The Manager, Corporate Development contributes to the overall success of the Strategic Transactions & Review team, which is responsible for the execution of M&A and other strategic projects that advance the development and implementation of the Bank’s corporate plans, strategies and objectives.The Manger is responsible for supporting the analysis and execution of acquisitions and divestitures, in partnership with Business Lines and other functional groups, as well as the evaluation of partnership opportunities or supporting internal strategic reviews and other analytical requests on behalf of the Board and senior management. They are also responsible for developing and applying analytical frameworks and quality standards in order to ensure consistent presentation and evaluation of opportunities to executives and senior management of the Bank, and to ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations and internal policies and procedures.Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Provide support to Senior Managers, Directors, VPs and SVP on a variety of acquisition, divestiture and partnership transactions or other ad hoc requests including:
- Preparing strategic and / or financial analysis (including return analysis, benchmarking, assessing financial impact on P&L and capital, etc.)
- Collecting various information sets or conducting independent ad hoc research
- Developing presentations for executive discussion
- Building and maintaining detailed financial models
- Conducting detailed due diligence and analysis
- Evaluation of and consideration of the operational impacts of strategic initiatives
- Preparing summaries of financial analysis and coordinating and compiling due diligence findings for acquisitions
- Collecting and analyzing information and preparing confidential information memorandums (CIMs), managing virtual data rooms, working group lists, Q&A trackers and due diligence responses for sale processes
- Preparing slides or written documents with a high attention to detail and presentation for presentation to external parties
- Support the deal team in working closely with functions and product groups across the Bank and building and fostering relationships that enable comprehensive, timely analysis and execution of projects and activities with:
- Business lines (Canadian Banking, International Banking, Global Banking & Markets)
- Functional areas and internal groups (HR, Legal, Risk, Finance, Tax, Insurance, Accounting Policy, Compliance, Integrations, Capital Management, Strategy, Marketing, Communications, Investor Relations, etc.)
- External stakeholders (legal counsel, investment banking, consulting firms, etc.)
- Provide analytical and other support with respect to various regulatory initiatives and Bank activities (especially those promulgated by Finance Canada, OSFI, the Competition Bureau and the CDIC)
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Undergraduate or post graduate degree in business or related discipline with emphasis in finance, accounting, or economics and other relevant subject areas
- Professional designations (CA, CMA, CPA, CFA) are a strong asset
- 3+ years of experience in M&A, financial modeling, valuation, consulting, or other relevant experience
- Experience in the management of large, complex and diverse projects or functions in corporate management portfolios
- Experience in analyzing bank financial statements, products / divisions, earnings drivers and valuation metrics is preferred
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint as well as Bloomberg or other financial information databases are critical to success
- Fluency in Spanish is not required but considered an asset
