You’ll love it here too.The opportunityCanadian Western Bank (CWB) is exited to announce an exceptional opportunity for a Manager, Credit Review within CWB’s Risk Management team. This role acts as a second line of defense and focuses on credit quality, providing an independent analysis of borrower quality and associated risks. The Manager is responsible for providing objective assurance on credit risks and ensuring effective controls. This position plays a meaningful role in leading and protecting CWB’s credit assets.Areas of focusEnsure accurate identification of risk in post loan reviews abide by CWB’s risk appetite.Lead all aspects of various credit risk categories, such as policy interpretation, model data inputs, validation of loan structure and all information required to complete a credit application.Develop loan review standards, identify process gaps, and work with software programs, particularly the Google suite.Improve data quality, assist in remediating data deficiencies, and work optimally with senior leadership and teams in a financial institution.Develop and propose Key Risk and Performance Indicators for loan review and portfolio performance tracking.Apply technical background by working with various software programs, specifically, Google suite of productsWork effectively with leadership, internal partners, and teams at all levels and in all areas within CWB.Successful incumbentBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experienceFive (5) to seven (7) years of proven experience in the financial industry. Specifically in areas such as: Commercial Credit Underwriting; Credit Adjudication/Decisioning; Internal Audit; Data Quality Management; and/or Credit/Loan Review.Proficient in Microsoft Suite, knowledge of PowerBI and PowerApps considered an asset.Proven experience in credit review or a similar role within the Finance industryStrong analytical skills and the ability to determine creditworthiness based on financial dataGreat teammate who can lead by building consensus and collaboration; influence skills that bring balance when faced with potentially conflicting perspectives and work effectively with multiple partners to achieve common objectives.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse range of individualsSolid understanding of risk management principles and regulatory requirementsStrong adaptability to excel in a dynamic and time-sensitive work settingStrong results orientation in a fast-paced business environment with a high degree of change and firm deliverables, with ability to make common sense decisions.Why work with us?Proudly recognized by Great Place to Work® in 2024 as one of Canada’s top 50 Best Workplaces & member of Waterstone Human Capital’s Most Admired Corporate Culture™ Hall of Fame.Wellness matters.
