Job Description:Manager, Finance (Human Services)Corporate Services- Business Financial PlanningStatus: Regular Full TimeSalary Range: $125,186-$156,484 per annum plus comprehensive benefitsWork Mode: Hybrid*see below for more details about this work mode.Location: 10 Peel Centre Drive, BramptonHours of work: 35 hours per weekWho we are: Business and Financial Planning (BFP) provides key strategic and operational financial services to all departments within the Region of Peel and ensures the successful fulfillment of the following key financial objectives: annual budget preparation, regular financial reporting, development of medium and long term financial plans, compliance with financial policies, and year end audit and external funding requirements.The Business & Financial Planning teams provide key strategic and operational financial services to the following client departments: Internal Services, Health Services, Human Services and Public Works. BFP partners with the leadership teams to execute program and corporate strategic deliverables, as well as provide an organizational perspective to the business.Join Our Team as a Finance Manager!Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the community? As the Finance Manager, you will be a key partner in driving the financial success of essential Human Services programs, including Housing, Early Years and Child Care, Income and Social Supports, and Community Investment Programs.Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Financial Leadership: Collaborate closely with the Human Services Leadership Team to provide insightful recommendations on financial performance, operating and capital planning, and business analysis.
  • Outcome-Driven Solutions: Assess program priorities and deliver innovative, timely solutions that enhance performance management and achieve targeted outcomes.
  • Expert Analysis: Leverage your financial expertise to review and support Council Reports, offering proactive advice on critical issues and risk mitigation strategies.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Inspire and Guide: Lead a team of 3 Supervisors and indirectly oversee 10-12 finance professionals, utilizing your leadership skills to coach, motivate, and develop your team.
  • Champion Diversity and Inclusion: Demonstrate your commitment to creating an inclusive workplace by modeling equitable behaviors and promoting continuous development.

  • Relevant University Degree (Finance, Accounting, Master Business Administration)
  • A professional accounting designation (CPA/ACCA)
  • 5-8 years of progressive financial planning experience
  • Proven leadership skills to develop staff
  • Combination of education and experience may be considered

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and provide comprehensive financial advice and options to senior management
  • In-depth change management knowledge and demonstrated success as a change leader
  • Effective political awareness and business acumen, tact and diplomacy
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of Human Services programs and experience with Federal and/or Provincial funding models
  • SAP knowledge and working experience
