The role of Finance & Operations Manager will lead a small team of 3-5 professionals and support the Executive Director with the financial & administrative needs. Your role would be to take a leadership role in all financial, legal, and administrative matters. You will play an essential role in the budget and forecasting plans and work closely with the Executive Director of cash flow management and costing. You will help coordinate the back-office responsibilities and act as the right hand to the ED with implementation of operational best practices and policies in accordance with the strategic plan. As this organization will be embarking on a charity registration process, you will help implement new procedures & systems pertaining to human resources, IT, insurance documentation, legal contracts and corporate governance. The Manager will work with the ED to track performance and produce reports relating to the investment portfolio, grants, and programs. As the top finance professional within the small NGO, you will oversee the administrative duties, HR –payroll & benefits, and legal contracts. You will collaborate with external accounting firms and auditors to generate appropriate reports and ensure efficient completion of audit and compliance requirements. This exciting position will communicate internally and externally with key stakeholders and audiences. As the intent is for the project portfolio to evolve, it is essential the Manager can understand impact investment or partner engagement activities for the program / project portfolios.

The Ideal Candidate will bring a strong background in accounting operations oversight and financial management. You will be a savvy manager for your internal team, and a relationship building with external contractors and vendors. You will have a minimum of 5+ years of progressive growth, with at least 2 years in a management role. You will have led an accounting team along with some knowledge of the HR portfolio and can speak to your experience working with auditors, vendors and insurance companies. You will be a results oriented professional, who knows how to motivate those around them to be their best, and build meaningful relationships while fostering a fun and collaborative environment. CPA designation would be considered an asset, but applicable experience will be considered. If you are a strong communicator, looking to take your strong leadership skills and exceptional accounting experience to an organization that brings meaning, this role may be ideal.
