Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The Manager, Financial & Regulatory Reporting will support the Financial & Regulatory Reporting Initiative team in providing accurate and timely financial information to the bank’s shareholders and regulators, implementing process changes to drive efficiency or meet changing external and regulatory requirement, and maintaining an exceptional control environment.What you will do?Coordinate, prepare, and reconcile financial disclosures and regulatory returns at the RBC Consolidated level for monthly, quarterly and year-end deliverablesScrutinize processes, get in-depth understanding, look for optimizations and build out path on how to automate or optimize.Build automation and see them through the cycles of UAT, implementation in production, warranty period support and hand over to business as usualAssist on various Finance projects as subject matter expertAnalyze reports and related data for completeness, accuracy, consistency with other reported financial information, and data quality issues.Prepare and maintain process documentation, accounting guidance, and operational guidance for assigned financial disclosures and regulatory returns.Investigate queries and resolve issues on behalf of internal and external stakeholders for financial disclosures and regulatory returnsActive participant in cross-training with other teateam membersm-members to ensure team resilience and business continuity planning.Strong ability to identify, propose, coordinate, implement, and test reporting solutions for new financial and regulatory reporting initiatives/projects through interpreting requirements, and working with both audit and subject matter experts such as Accounting Policy Group, Platform Financial Controllers, Product Controllers, and Finance.What you need to succeed?Must Have2+ years’ of experience in financial accounting or financial reporting role, preferably in the financial services or professional accounting services industriesAbility to manage and analyze large data through automated tools and using advanced Excel functions; understand database concepts and medium-level level programming abilitiesAbility to independently propose solutions to problems and, leveraging business and strategic insights, recommend a course of action, in spite of incomplete information and complexityAbility to manage timelines and project progress through both personal accountability and through coordinating and negotiating with stakeholdersCollaborate with cross-functional teams to document and prioritize functional requirementsManage relationships with key stakeholders on a day-to-day basisDesire to challenge the status quo and make bold changes, particularly with respect to streamlining processes, increasing efficiency, and furthering execution excellence.Ability to make complex subject matter easy to follow through strong written and oral communication skillsNice to HaveProfessional Accounting or Finance Designation (e.g. Chartered Professional Accountant, etc.)Job Skills Budget Management, Communication, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Large Group Presentations, Process ManagementAdditional Job DetailsAddress: 20 KING ST W:TORONTOCity: TORONTOCountry: CanadaWork hours/week: 37.5Employment Type: Full timePlatform: Office of the CFOJob Type: RegularPay Type: SalariedPosted Date: 2024-05-10Application Deadline: 2024-05-25Inclusion and Equal Opportunity EmploymentAt RBC, we embrace diversity and inclusion for innovation and growth.
