At Four Seasons, we are powered by people and our culture enables everything we do.Manager, Global Entities (12-month contract)The Manager Global Entities (12-month contract) reports to the Senior Director, Financial Reporting and manages the Global Entities team. The Global Entities team is accountable for the administration and financial reporting and analysis of over 150+ entities throughout multiple jurisdictions across the Four Seasons corporate structure. The oversight of this function includes but is not limited to: entity accounting and administration, budget to entity administration, financial reporting, analysis, forecasting, bank and account reconciliations, intercompany account analysis and reconciliations and audit support.Together with the Director of Global Entities, the Manager is responsible for supporting all aspects of the local management entities and employment entities which includes coordinating with the Director of Finance at the properties and various Four Seasons’ departments such as Tax, Legal, Finance, and P&C with respect to: tax reporting, KYC banking requests, declaration of dividends, change of directors, employment requirements / restrictions, invoicing, financial audits & regulatory / commercial reporting and all other administrative necessities.On an annual basis, the Manager of Global Entities in collaboration with Financial Reporting Team are responsible for the timely completion of the audited financial statements and notes for Four Seasons EMEA Holdings BV; FS UAE Ltd, FS EU SARL, FS Malta, Singapore and Hong Kong.What You’ll Be Doing:Accounting
- Supervise and approve month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial accounting including but not limited to: journal entries preparation and approval for various global entities, accounts payable, accounts receivable, month end accruals, bank transactions and reconciliations, and foreign exchange revaluations to ensure it is completed in a timely manner by the Global Entities team.
- Follow established accounting processes and procedures and enforce internal controls and GL administration.
- Research and analyze all material / special transactions (e.g. intercompany, asset transfers, reorganization, capital investments, impairments, valuation) to determine proper accounting treatment and reporting requirements
- Support Corporate Accounting team with AR, AP and GL journal entries.
Financial AnalysisMonthly analysis:
- Oversight of the Global entity team to complete the monthly load into FocusLE together with the financial analysis in an accurate and timely manner.
- Coordinate and communicate with Finance personnel on how to rectify inconsistences that arise by providing the required action steps.
- Assist, when necessary, the property Directors of Finance with any reporting inconsistencies
Quarterly analysis:
- Maintain financial analysis tool for budget and reforecasting to ensure information is consistent and explain any large variances.
- Review financial analysis on the intercompany A/R and A/P balance to ensure amounts are being settled on a regular basis and provide appropriate action plan.
Financial ReportingManage, review, and approve the reporting package for Global Entities administered at Toronto Corporate office which includes the annual balance sheet and income statement for tax return purposes for:
- Canadian stand-alone entities
- US tax package for US consolidated tax return
- Dutch tax package for Dutch consolidated tax return
- Asia Pacific stand-alone entities
Together with the Financial Reporting Team are responsible for the timely completion of the audited consolidated Dutch financial statements and notes for Four Seasons EMEA Holdings BV; FS UAE Ltd, FS EU SARL, FS Malta, Asia and Pacific, and Hong Kong jurisdictional audited financial statements, and that they are done so in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner.Together with the Director of Global Entities and Treasury, prepare step memorandums and supporting documentation including analysis for the repatriation of cash on a bi-annual basis from related Four Seasons entities.Administration – Global EntitiesIn partnership with Legal, Tax and Treasury, provide support to the Directors of Finance responsible for the administration and filing requirements of the local management entities including but not limited to:
- New entity set-up (and dissolution, as required)
- Banking “Know your client (KYC)” and “Ultimate beneficial ownership (UBO)” requests.
- Updating of directors and commercial chamber filing requirements
- Local Financial Statements requirements and filings
- Employment requirements and restrictions
- Declaring dividends on an annual basis and cash flow requirements
Maintain the global entity database together with the dividend tracking report.Assist in the preparation of reports and material for local entity board meetings.Staffing/Leadership
- Manage a high performing team of finance professionals, including senior analysts and staff accountants.
- Perform staff management responsibilities including goal setting, coaching and continuous feedback, team and staff status meetings, performance evaluation.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationship with colleagues in global corporate offices such as Amsterdam, Shanghai, Hong Kong, London, Singapore, Dubai, etc.
- Support department projects and initiatives, including Finance Transformation or other process improvements.
What You Bring:
- 7+ years of relevant Finance/Accounting experience
- University degree with major in accounting / finance
- Designated CPA preferred.
- Experience with HFM, Sun System, Smartview and Vision preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Team
- Require a technical knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (IFRS) and job knowledge of all positions in Accounting and Finance.
- Good knowledge and understanding of internal control process and procedures in ensure compliance.
- Strategic, analytical and have solid business acumen.
Key Skills:
- Ability to lead a team of finance professionals and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to manage one’s time and team’s time to deal effectively with multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) being sensitive to the various cultures encountered on a global basis.
- Well organized and detail oriented with an aptitude for numbers.
- Ability to identify with issues when they arise and propose solutions to resolve them.
- Strong accounting and financial reporting skills across different countries
