What is the opportunity?

The Manager, Global Markets Advisory will support the Financial Performance Management team in the creation of the annual budget, 5 year strategic plan, monthly forecast updates; provide financial advisory to business heads and managers; and produce monthly financial reports and presentations for senior management. They will focus on supporting the Global Equities business line, working cross-functionally to support the global and regional business advisors with various reporting needs, financial analysis and business advisory.

What you will do?

  • Support the annual budgeting, monthly forecasting and 5 year strategic review processes. Upload Revenue / NIE / FTE into financial systems; work collaboratively with regional FPM teams to help with their budgeting processes; help review and check all BUs / Regions to ensure data is correct; work collaboratively with Platform FPM to ensure financials align with expected results
  • Assist in Revenue, NIE, FTE and Balance Sheet updates for the monthly rolling forecast. Ensure figures align with management expectations; coordinate results with FPM Platform teams to ensure financials reflect business expectations
  • Assist with monthly financial close process. Thoroughly review and analyze NIE from GV1-5 and identify drivers of cost changes; provide GV1 NIE analysis and compare with final NIE results to identify major movements; work collaboratively with various functional groups to coordinate monthly accruals; help prepare monthly NIE analysis for the business, reviewing all NIE line items and drivers of changes.
  • Prepare monthly financials to be sent to GE Executives, Business Leaders and Business Management.
  • Provide support to Business Leaders and Business Management where requests may range from ad hoc projects, management reporting, to data mining
  • Prepare weekly MD meeting commentary on GE revenue drivers to support Platform and senior management presentations

What you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Broad comprehension of Capital Markets and Financial Services Industry
  • Broad understanding of Equities landscape and current issues facing banks
  • Demonstrated advanced expertise in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Advanced analytical skills and experience
  • Effective communication & comfort level interacting with senior executives on a regular basis

Nice to Have

  • Experience using IBM Cognos/TM1
