Job Summary and Qualifications

During your time in the Manager in Training Program, you will complete field training and classroom assignments preparing you to function competently as a Manager in the Patient Access Department of the hospital. The Front Office, or Patient Access area, is a department of the hospital which directly interacts with patients when they first arrive. The department is very visible to the patients and their families. It functions as a central point of contact across the organization. Patient Access staff are responsible for receiving and greeting patients and visitors. They also answer inquiries and assist patients with completing registration documents as required by the facility.

The training will focus on enhancing your management and technical skills so to ensure you are knowledgeable in all aspects in the business office functions. You will be responsible for reviewing key metrics to determine trends in operational performance and identify process improvement opportunities including up-front collections, reduction in insurance denial trends, and reduce percentage of error. What qualifications you will need:

  • BS or BA degree required (or working towards the completion of a BA or BS). Accounting, Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration & Hospitality degrees are a plus.
  • MBA degree helpful but not required
  • Experience in healthcare, healthcare management or finance is preferred
