Requisition ID: 200012Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.Purpose:The Manager, Operational Risk & Control – Global Wholesale Operations (“GWO”) is responsible for supporting GWO’s operational risk and control function ensuring all activities conducted and reported in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. As a key partner to the overall GWO management team the Manager, Operational Risk & Control is responsible for providing the necessary analysis and inputs to support ongoing reviews of GWO Operational Controls and supporting teams in their execution of key priorities of the GWO Operational Risk Program, including, amongst others, Operational and Compliance initiatives, Operational Risk Event (ORE) reporting, and Risk & Control Self-Assessment activities.Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Supports the Operational Risk and Control framework for GWO, providing support for various GWO utilities through:
  • Planning and Execution of Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs)
  • Reporting of Operational Risk Events (OREs)
  • Reporting and tracking of issues resulting from Audits, SOX, Operational Risk Events, RCSAs, regulatory, etc.
  • Prepare reporting for various management forums, committees, or ad hoc requests as they arise
  • Advises GWO utilities on operational risk related matters to ensure adherence to the Bank’s Operational Risk Management framework.
  • Proactively addresses gaps, identify opportunities and leads changes for streamlining or automating end to end processes and controls.
  • Participates in an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to regulatory compliance risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, Privacy Risk Framework, and the Code of Conduct.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Provides support to the business unit in the areas of risk and policy, to help the business unit achieve their goals in alignment with the Bank’s strategy.

  • Developing and maintaining key relationships with the various GWO Utilities and Regions

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a related control function within Operations, Operational Risk, Finance, or Internal Audit.
  • Ability to apply a sound knowledge of general accounting and auditing practices and principals.
  • A good understanding of back-office functions / services provided by Global Wholesale Operations in support of the Bank’s capital markets and wholesale banking business.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint skills with strong experience in developing executive level presentations.
  • Knowledge and experience with SharePoint, PowerBI or other reporting and analytics tools would be an asset.
