Typically manages and oversees supervisors and/or hourly/professional jobs and responsible for setting the overall direction for employees.Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The Manager, Operations Effectiveness is responsible for leading, supporting, and executing projects and initiatives to drive the transformation of the Operations Effectiveness Operating Model. This includes a wide range of projects covering business growth, process reengineering, infrastructure renewal, and change management.This role will collaborate closely with Operations, Technology, Digital, and Data Insights Teams to capture requirements, streamline and automate processes, and deliver data insights. This role will also partner with RBCI Technology Teams on production support and maintenance of business managed applications within RBC Insurance.What will you do?

  • Work with Operations Effectiveness leadership team to identify and implement strategic initiatives to drive business value and generate efficiencies
  • Collaborate closely with subject matter experts to document processes, identify areas for improvement, capture requirements, and design and recommended solutions
  • Design, develop, test, and implement automated solutions to enable straight-through processing, leveraging tools such as RPA, Python, VBA, SQL, etc.
  • Provide production support for Reinsurance applications and operations, including support for scheduled maintenance, ad-hoc requests, and participating in external projects impacting Reinsurance
  • Support the implementation of new technologies and information systems capabilities to improve process and generate efficiency
  • Improve reporting processes and collaborate with Data teams develop operational dashboards to provide insights on service level agreements

What will you need to succeed?Must have

  • 3 to 5 years of experience and a proven track record of leading transformation initiatives and implementing process improvements
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Solution oriented, and strong advocate for change, adaptability, and continuous learning and improvement
  • Understanding of data sourcing and analytics, and experience with RDBMS, SQL, and/or ETL tools
  • Experience in automation and programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, VBA, RPA
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

  • Post-secondary degree in related field preferred
  • Experience in finance and/or insurance operations
  • Experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau)
  • Project management experience (PMP, LSS)
  • Advanced negotiation and persuasion skills
