Learn more about Kemira at .We are seeking a skilled People & Culture Manager, fluent in both French Canadian and English, to join our Americas’ HR team. As the People & Culture Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources operations, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and company policies, and fostering a positive work environment. This position is located in Varennes, Canada and eligible for hybrid work.In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Drive diversity, cultural transformation, talent development and improvement of ways of working in the country
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring candidates for various positions within the organization. Coordinate with hiring managers to ensure staffing needs are met efficiently.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to employees and managers. Address conflicts and facilitate resolutions in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Administer compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with relevant regulations. Monitor market trends and recommend adjustments to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Develop and update HR policies and procedures in collaboration with senior management. Ensure policies are communicated effectively and consistently applied across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial employment laws and regulations.
  • Implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and promote a positive organizational culture. Organize events and initiatives to celebrate achievements and foster team cohesion.
  • Manage a team of 2 local People & Culture professionals (i.e. HR Generalist & Payroll Specialist)
  • Manage supplier relationships and service levels

What you’ll bring to the Team:

  • Fluency in both French Canadian and English (written and verbal).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field. HR certification (e.g., CHRP, SHRM-CP) preferred.
  • Proven experience as an HR Manager or similar role, with a deep understanding of HR functions and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficient in HRIS and other HR software applications (ie. UKG payroll platform, SAP Success Factors).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
