Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The Manager, Wholesale Platform Finance, Financial Reporting and Disclosures, will act as subject matter expert team for the Wholesale businesses (Capital Markets), supporting the internal and external reporting and disclosure requirements and control framework relating to the balance sheet and income statement. They will seek out opportunities to improve operational accounting processes, drive consistency of financial reporting globally, and automate/improve the disclosure processes. In addition, they will lead operational projects and cross-enterprise initiatives on behalf of the Wholesale platform, liaising and collaborating with various stakeholders both within and outside of the platform. This is a great opportunity for those who are interested in being the key point of contact with internal/external auditors and all regional Financial Controllers to effectively manage quarterly reporting processes, including key SOX controls.What you will do?

  • Initiate and lead education sessions, group meetings as the subject matter expert on the consolidation and preparation of note disclosures and regulatory returns.
  • Proactively identify and drive opportunities to further streamline/ automate disclosure processes, work with end users to challenge the status quo of reporting templates and improve controls.
  • Manage and monitor the Capital Markets reporting for month-end close, and work closely with regional Financial Control teams to address and remediate any identified issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide leadership on quarterly external disclosure requirements. Review consolidated variance commentary and analysis to ensure completeness and accuracy of the external disclosures, and challenge assumptions as appropriate.
  • Act as a liaison and a subject matter expert between the Financial & Regulatory Reporting group, External Auditors, Internal Auditors, Risk Capital Groups, Risk Management, Performance Management and Business Unit controllers to ensure issues and initiatives are worked out in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Lead end-to-end implementation of new projects on behalf of the platform, including education, monitoring, and communications, acting as a challenge function, and ensuring appropriate documentation. Ensure consistent accounting treatment across business lines and geographies.
  • Ensure SOX and RBC EUDA documentation compliance and completeness.

What you need to succeed?Must-Have

  • 3+ years of experience in an auditing/finance or reporting environment
  • Strong finance/accounting background – CPA Accounting designation or equivalent required
  • Advanced user proficiency with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently and manage numerous priorities/projects simultaneously
  • Motivated individual who can work under pressure in a high pressure, high reward environment
  • Excellent analytical and organization skills
  • Conflict and issue resolution and escalation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice-to-Have

  • Extensive knowledge of IFRS for Financial Institutions
  • Knowledge of RBC financial systems and associated procedures
  • Proven ability to make decisions in an environment of tight deadlines and tight regulatory oversight
