The Manager of Product Performance and Expense Management of International Wealth Management (IWM) Finance, will work closely with several finance teams across the Bank’s international footprint, providing support in the planning/forecasting and reporting processes, as well as providing guidance and leadership. Contributes to the overall success of International Wealth Finance in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

1) Manage IWM Finance data and reporting strategy

  • Manage IWM Finance Information Systems to ensure completeness, accuracy, timeliness and integrity of the financial results
  • Develop and implement reporting strategies and process improvements for all reporting packages and ad hoc requests
  • Enhance and implement product performance, country and business line reports
  • Act as a trusted business partner and drive segment/product discussion with Country leadership
  • Support overall Bank and Business strategy, including integration of divestitures, newly acquired entities in existing reporting, forecasting and plan processes

2) Drive Quarterly Forecasts and Annual Plan for IWM Head Office and Country Expenses

  • Lead and own high level and detailed Forecast and Business Planning processes
  • Assess Product growth assumptions and expense drivers; liaise with Country and Business Line heads to ensure internal alignment with internal partners and targets
  • Preparing executive summaries for Finance and Business Line executives, where required

3) Manage IWM Product Profitability framework

  • Develop and build product profitability models and integrate them into overall IWM Finance reporting and planning processes
  • Integrate economic and macro trends to enhance and enable actionable business decisions
  • Drive quarterly discussion and commentary with Country and Business Line leadership

4) Other

  • Support other ongoing Finance and International Wealth Management initiatives, including but not limited to: Enterprise-Wide Stress Testing (EWST), Global Wealth Management Competitive Analysis, peer relative performance, Business Line Management initiatives, Profitability Models, Business Development initiatives, operational efficiencies and any other finance-related inquiries as formulated by Senior Management and Sales Management Groups
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • CFA or MBA and/or Accounting Designation preferred
  • 8 year’s work experience in financial industry, experience in Research, Strategy, Investment Banking and or Wealth Business lines
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills, especially with senior level management
  • Material knowledge of the Wealth Management and Financial Institutions industry and their products/businesses
  • High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office products
  • Built complex dynamic financial models to analyze investment opportunities and project future earnings
  • Experience with Oracle Essbase, Hyperion Planning & Forecasting and PeopleSoft
  • Fluency in Spanish an asset
