What is the opportunity?
As a Manager, T&O Applications Finance you will provide financial advisory support to the Retail Banking Payments Technology & Integration (RBPTI) group in Technology and Operations (T&O) with the responsibility for all finance performance management activities including month-end closing, reporting, planning, forecasting, variance analysis, allocations, tracking of key metrics, and providing insights and advice.
What you will do?
- Lead the month-end closing process including processing entries, validating and loading results, and preparing variance analysis
- Assist in developing and producing accurate and relevant management reporting packages for RBPTI and its delivery towers, including financial information and relevant metrics
- Collect data and conduct analysis to reveal trends and drivers, identify and raise issues for attention, and provide recommendations for actions to close the gaps
- Play an active role in developing monthly T-5 estimate, forecast, annual plan, and 5-year outlook, including working with the RBPTI planning team for business inputs, bridging gaps with targets, confirming allocations, loading to system, and conducting variance analysis
- Collaborate with Financial Control to ensure compliance with accounting policy and control guidance and complete attestation as required
- Build strong working relationship with the RBPTI planning and business teams, segment Finance teams, and the extended Applications Finance and T&O Finance teams
- Administer system updates including new transits, hierarchy changes, and MIS updates
- Continuously improve processes, find opportunities to standardize, automate and free-up capacity for value-add analysis and insights
- Handle ad-hoc requests as required
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- 3+ years of post-qualification experience in finance
- Strong business acumen, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Strong ability to deal with ambiguity, multiple data sources, and translating data/analysis into key messages and insights
- Highly developed interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and building relationships at various organization levels
- Self-motivated – ability to work both independently and collaboratively with multi-functional teams
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Advanced proficiency in productivity tools including MS Office
Nice-to-have
- Accounting designation CPA, CFA or MBA
- Knowledge of RBC financial systems
- Knowledge of data analytical tools
