OverviewWe are seeking a passionate and culturally aware individual to join our team as a Marketing and Cultural Engagement Specialist. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in supporting WorkSafeBC’s engagement with diverse audiences to promote a culture of workplace health and safety across the province. The incumbent will collaborate with community leaders to understand the unique traditions, beliefs, values, norms, language and religion of various cultural groups and develop multi-channel engagement strategies to effectively meet the needs of our stakeholders.This role reports to the Director, Engagement, Marketing and Channel Strategy.How you’ll make a difference: You’ll build the understanding and trust that helps WorkSafeBC serve people across B.C.Where you’ll workAt WorkSafeBC, we offer a model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.In this role, you’ll work primarily from our Richmond office, with some flexibility to work from your home in B.C.What you’ll do
- Develop and execute engagement plans to support WorkSafeBC services and programs for diverse audiences across the province.
- Lead the development and implementation of multi-channel engagement strategies, including research, analysis, and KPI setting.
- Conduct market research to understand cultural backgrounds and preferences to inform marketing strategies.
- Cultivate partnerships with multicultural organizations and community leaders to enhance outreach efforts.

- Understand cultural sensitivity of diverse backgrounds and tailor engagement strategies to resonate with variety of audiences.
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, to convey ideas, facilitate discussions and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Think critically to identify issues, develop solutions, and make decisions to contribute to the success of engagement initiatives.
- Handle sensitive information and research results in confidence and maintain political awareness of regulations management and public relations.
Your background and experience
- A degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related discipline
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of marketing, creative services, and/or communications
- Experience leading and implementing marketing projects and initiatives aimed at building engagement with diverse audiences
