Brief description of the organization
Yazda is a non-governmental, non-profit organization established in 2014 in response to the genocide committed by the self-declared Islamic State (“IS”) against the Yazidis and other communities in Iraq and Syria. Since its inception, Yazda has worked with local and international partners to provide Yazidi survivors, IDPs, and refugees with humanitarian, accountability, and advocacy services in their post-genocide recovery. Yazda has been working in Iraq since October 2014 and operates out of the main offices in Duhok in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and out of the Sinoni office in Sinjar in Nineveh Province. Yazda is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the United States and is registered in Erbil, Baghdad, the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, and Australia.
Job Purpose
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring effective data collection, analysis, and reporting for our programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Community Visits and Focus Group Discussions: Engage with beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries through community visits and focus group discussions to gather valuable insights and feedback.
- Field Monitoring Visits: Conduct field monitoring visits as necessary to assess the implementation of program activities and address any challenges.
- Collaboration with Field Staff: Work closely with field staff to facilitate data collection and implement activities that promote beneficiary accountability. Assist Program Managers in the data collection process, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
- Overall Monitoring of Program Activities: Support the overall monitoring of program activities, adhering to established M&E protocols and guidelines. Regularly update the indicators tracking table to reflect the most current project data and progress.
- Reporting: Provide timely inputs, information, and statistics for daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
- Data Management: Submit all monitoring, assessment, and survey results into a centralized database for effective record-keeping and analysis.
- Capacity Building: Assist program personnel in understanding and utilizing M&E tools, providing necessary support to enhance their proficiency.
- Development of M&E Tools on Kobo: Take a proactive role in developing and refining M&E tools on Kobo, ensuring their alignment with project goals and objectives.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Previous experience in monitoring and evaluation activities.
- Proficiency in using Kobo for M&E purposes.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
