We’re thrilled to announce that, due to the expansion of our R&D Department, we have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineers to join our dynamic team in Kingswinford. Be part of a cutting-edge company where your ideas can truly make a difference!The purpose of this role is to create and develop design solutions for Handicare products and to provide engineering solutions to complex consumer and business needs, with the opportunity to work from initial concept all the way to final manufacture on one site.

  • Work as part of a European based R&D team with opportunity to collaborate on global projects
  • Work on multiple projects as required to support both new product introduction as well as on going product development
  • Design solutions to meet technical, quality, time and cost requirements
  • Producing engineering solutions including CAD, detail drawings and other associated documentation necessary for product certification, manufacture, installation and service
  • Verification, validation and development of designs from initial concept through the development cycle and in to volume manufacture
  • Working effectively with manufacturing as well as other company departments and external suppliers to deliver complex technical solutions
  • Drive the principle of design for manufacture and continuous improvement in all we do
  • Strive for the best quality solutions whilst meeting cost and time constraints.

Essential skills:

  • Qualified to a minimum of HNC or Degree/HND in Mechanical Engineering or relevant industry experience
  • Mechanical design experience and / or manufacturing engineering experience
  • Design for manufacture
  • High level of CAD experience (Solidworks preferable)
  • Comfortable with New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD) principles
  • High level understanding of GD&T as well as assembly and sub assembly drawings
  • Highly analytical and methodical
  • Capable of self-starting and working effectively as part of a larger project team
  • Support and take lead where required on Engineering changes
  • Good understanding of engineering change control

Desirable:

  • Manufacturing processes experience (castings, fabrications, mouldings, etc.)
  • Understanding of certification and compliance processes

  • £35,000 – £45,000 per annum DOE
