As part of this role, you will be entrusted with the task of designing mechanical components and accessories for circuit breakers and other energy management products. This will involve considering a range of factors, including functionality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness. In addition, you will be tasked with initiating feasibility studies and developing business cases for projects aimed at cost reduction, incremental sales, and/or supply chain improvements. Your role will be vital in ensuring the creation of high-quality products that satisfy both customer needs and industry standards.You will make impact with the following responsibilities:

  • Design parts, accessories and assemblies using Pro/Engineering (Creo).
  • Coordinate with the manufacturing plant all aspects of new product launches.
  • Define test requirements for approving design changes requested by the plant.
  • Collaborate on prototyping parts and assemblies to ensure design approval and optimize processes at the plant.
  • Assist in project management through the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process, from project inception to design, manufacturing, and obsolescence.
  • Maintain close coordination with PLM project leads to ensure timely completion of engineering action items.
  • Work on cross-functional teams for new product development and significant product/process improvement projects. Develop project plans and coordinate activities of assigned resources, schedules, and production launch activities.
  • Prepare Bills-Of-Material for new designs, project equipment, and components. Assist Purchasing with technical procurement decisions, and as necessary, obtain component data and prices.
  • Participate in component selection, including research into viable alternative components when needed.
  • Compile details and drawings for customer instruction manuals and manufacturing instructions.
  • Work closely with Siemens manufacturing locations and provide a rapid response to technical questions.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 plus years of experience with Product Engineering, Product Design and Engineering Changes.
  • Must be eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to travel 50%.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering is a plus.
  • Proficient in the use of:
  • Pro/Engineer (Creo)
  • Simulations
  • Minitab
  • SAP
  • Project Management Tools
  • Siemens Teamcenter
  • Additive Manufacturing knowledge
  • Sheet metal knowledge
  • Molded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB) knowledge desired
  • CORE tools experience desired (PPAP, FMEA)
  • Electrical contact design experience desired
  • Project Management experience
  • Injection molding knowledge desired
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish is an advantage
  • Background in AC/DC electrical systems desired
