Overview

This incumbent will address the immediate health needs of the post-flood affected population with communicable and noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), provide counseling and referral sources for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) including mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) counseling through the deployment of one Mobile Medical Teams (MMTs).

Responsibilities

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality SRH and Primary Health care services as per standards and protocol.
  • Provide comprehensive healthcare services for maternal, neonatal, child, and adolescent health.
  • Address both communicable and non-communicable diseases.
  • Deliver sexual and reproductive health services.
  • Maintain stock register for medicines and logistics daily.
  • Manage prevalent health conditions effectively.
  • Assist technical staff of the camp.
  • Assist supervisor to facilitate monthly coordination meetings at district level along with all the staff and review performance against set targets.
  • Lead technical staff at district level camp to ensure quality service according to quality assessment checklist.
  • Ensure standard infection prevention procedure and safe waste disposal system in the facility.
  • Oversee and conduct the technical sessions and provide necessary input.
  • Provide hands-on training for the technical staff as and when necessary.
  • providing psychological consultations on regular basis
  • Manage any obstetric and neonatal emergencies
  • Provide other MH services like ANC, PNC, PPFP
  • Assist in the distribution of SBCC materials to enhance community awareness.
  • Medical Officer will assist in improving GOB surveillance activities
  • Submit monthly report to Team Lead as per required timeline.
  • Carry out any other tasks assigned by the team lead.

Safeguarding Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so once the technology completed, doing quality assessment by verifying generated contents

Required Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of work experience in a hospital or outdoor practice, preferably in rural areas, focusing on primary health care, maternal and child health, reproductive health and communicable diseases.

MBBS with valid BMDC registration.

Current knowledge in the field of maternal newborn health including antenatal care, family planning, postnatal and and newborn care.

Excellent computer skills with all Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, Power Point, Excel)

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of diverse teams

Ability to manage a varied workload, work under pressure, priorities and meet deadlines

 

Preferred Qualifications

Working experiences in community engagement, particularly on gender integrations.

Skill in primary health care, maternal and child health, reproductive health and communicable diseases.

Prior experience in development of SBCC materials

Experience working with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOH&FW) and Local Governments

Demonstrated in-depth understanding of Bangladesh healthcare system, particularly the public health system

Strong skills in word processing and Excel spreadsheets;

Solid written, presentation, communication and organizational skills in both English and Bangla

Demonstrated self-management (i.e. motivation, dealing with pressure, adaptability)

Excellent influencing, advocacy, public relations, communication, and Networking skills.

Excellent organization, and coordination skills

Recording, reporting & presentation skills
