An exciting opportunity to join the Surgery & Critical Care Division within the Sheffield Children’s Hospital.We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual to work in the Ophthalmology Department of the Surgical and Critical Care Group.You will be flexible and conscientious and have the ability to work on your own initiative, prioritising your work and meeting deadlines whilst maintaining high standards.Main duties of the jobYou will be required to provide a comprehensive secretarial service for a clinical team in the department in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.You should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in addition to a clear understanding of patient confidentiality. You must possess a good working knowledge of IT packages and the ability to work across a mixed skill team.The role provides a link between the Trust, the patient and their GP for patients/carers and other healthcare professionals. - 4 GCSEs Grace C or above including English
- RSA III Typing / Word Processing or equivalent qualification or experience
Desirable
- NVQ2 in Business Administration or equivalent
ExperienceEssential
- Audio Typing experience
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience of working with filing systems
- Experience of good customer or patient care
- Experience of working with difference computer software eg email, internet
- Experience of scheduling /co-ordination of activities and / or resources
Desirable
- Medical Secretarial experience
- Previous NHS experience
- Experience with NHS / Healthcare software systems
- Experience of working with confidential material
