Job Summary:Keville Enterprises Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly skilled MEP Electrical Inspector with a focus on electrical systems to join our team on a bridge construction project in Bridgeport, CT. The MEP Electrical Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical installations related to the bridge construction adhere to design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. This role requires specialized knowledge of electrical systems in the context of large-scale infrastructure projects, including lighting, power distribution, safety systems, and other electrical infrastructure necessary for bridge operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical inspections and a strong understanding of electrical codes specific to bridge and civil engineering projects.Key Responsibilities:Electrical Inspections: Conduct comprehensive inspections of electrical systems on the bridge construction site, including street lighting, traffic control systems, lighting systems for navigation, power distribution, and backup generators.Code Compliance: Ensure all electrical installations and systems comply with relevant local, national, and international codes (NEC, NFPA, bridge-specific standards, etc.), as well as safety and environmental regulations.Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed inspection logs and reports, documenting all findings, discrepancies, and corrective actions needed to meet design specifications and regulatory requirements.Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality of electrical installations, ensuring that all materials, equipment, and wiring are properly installed and function according to the project’s specifications and safety standards.Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, contractors, and other inspectors to facilitate smooth coordination of electrical systems integration into the bridge structure and associated infrastructure.Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct regular tests on electrical systems, circuits, and components to ensure proper function and identify any malfunctions or non-compliance issues that could affect system safety or performance.Safety Oversight: Monitor and enforce compliance with all electrical safety procedures and practices to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel on the bridge construction site.Coordination with Stakeholders: Communicate inspection results, potential issues, and corrective actions to project managers, engineers, contractors, and other relevant stakeholders promptly and clearly.Inspection of Specialized Systems: Inspect the installation and functionality of specialized bridge electrical systems such as remote lighting, emergency backup power, and environmental monitoring systems.Qualifications:Education: High school diploma or equivalent requiredCertifications: Electrical Trade LicenseExperience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in electrical inspections or electrical engineering, with at least 3 years of experience in bridge construction, civil infrastructure, or large-scale infrastructure projects.Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, communication systems, and backup power systems specific to bridge construction. Ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations. Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required.Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of local, national, and international electrical codes, standards, and regulations (NEC, NFPA, AASHTO, etc.) applicable to bridge and infrastructure projects.Attention to Detail: Strong ability to detect issues with electrical systems and installations, ensuring that all work adheres to design and safety specifications.Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of preparing detailed reports and effectively collaborating with team members and project stakeholders.Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues in electrical systems quickly, providing effective solutions while maintaining compliance with codes and standards.Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience working on bridge or highway construction projects, particularly in electrical systems.Familiarity with specialized electrical systems used in bridge infrastructure, including remote monitoring and control systems.OSHA certification and safety training for construction sites.Familiarity with construction management software and inspection tools.OTHER: Employees assigned to driving duties (“drivers”) must have a current, valid US State driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Keville’s driving policy.
