About This Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled individual to assume the role of Microsoft Modern Work and Business Specialist, known internally as the Senior Principal Application Specialist.
In this key position, you will play an important role in driving technical leadership and expertise for the implementation and ongoing management of innovative solutions and applications, specifically focusing on AI and Microsoft’s Modern Work and Business Platforms.
Key responsibilities include:

Provide technical leadership for SharePoint Online and its integrations with other Microsoft 365 products (e.g., PowerPlatform, Viva Engage, Viva Connections) and UQ systems (e.g. central data systems).

In collaboration with other IT specialists assist in the design, configuration, provisioning, governance, monitoring, reporting, and support of solutions utilising the Microsoft suite of products including SharePoint, Power Platform, Microsoft 365 CoPilot Studio and Azure.

Liaise with other UQ IT specialists, vendors, projects, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of plans and resolution of issues.

Contribute to the design and implementation of UQ’s core intranet sites and services.

Develop and maintain mature application, system, and service documentation.

Support other technical team members to develop their knowledge of SharePoint Online through mentoring and cross-skilling activities.

After hours work may be required from time to time, subject to payment of the prescribed allowance and overtime penalties if necessary.
About You
-
Qualifications and training equivalent to a postgraduate degree in IT or related field, (or significant progress towards such qualifications) and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

Extensive experience configuring, managing, and supporting SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365
-
Effective understanding and application of Windows PowerShell to perform application administration and maintenance tasks.

Extensive experience in technical solution analysis, design, and implementation.

Extensive experience in providing advanced technical advice, troubleshooting and support.
-
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse range of technical and non-technical people.
-
Demonstrated ability to write clear and complete technical documentation and specifications.
-
Experience migrating content from SharePoint 2013 to SharePoint Online is desirable.
-
Experience supporting SharePoint Online in a large, complex organisation is desirable.
The successful candidate may be required to complete background checks including criminal history and education checks.
