The position at a glance

The Asset Servicing team handles asset setup and maintenance, reconciliation and trade data entry in the accounting system, corporate actions sourcing, instruction and processing, exchange traded derivative margin instruction and reconciliation, and security valuations.

An Asset Servicing Senior Analyst in this role will primarily work on the SimCorp Dimension accounting platform with the opportunity to learn and cross train in all Asset Servicing business functions with a focus on ensuring accurate Investment Book of Record to support US Middle Office clients. A Senior Analyst will not only complete daily processing activities but will execute quality control reviews and act as initial escalation point for complex queries. Candidate must be able to work independently in a high stress, time sensitive environment.

In detail

  • Assist Management in all aspects of daily processing, including providing guidance to staff in order to meet tight deadlines and quality control review.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and delegate work activities across a diverse team, while acting as a reliable control to guarantee client satisfaction.
  • Responsible for support and oversight of departmental operations and staff, independently managing workflows, resources, and client relationships.
  • Capitalize on knowledge and experience to serve as a resource, and provide guidance and direction, to Analysts. Assist junior analysts in researching, resolving, and—if necessary—escalating complex problems.
  • Help manage direct communications between clients, external business partners, and internal teams to solve a wide variety of problems expeditiously.
  • Responsible for contributing to the establishment and revisions of department policies, systems, procedures and timelines as needed. Facilitate the output of high-quality client deliverables by maintaining team-wide adherence to established procedures.
  • Develop expertise in all systems and processes. Participate in system enhancement projects that impact reports and/or functionality. Provide support in research and analysis of new and complex securities, including options, swaps and various fixed income products.
  • Provide feedback to members of the team and assists in the development of the department and its culture.
  • Review and, as appropriate, approve or provide feedback on work performed by Analysts.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Willingness to work from 11am to 7pm EST on weekdays and on global holidays (US and Canadian holidays) excluding Christmas and New Year’s Day.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in Middle Office operational functions – IBOR management, corporate actions & income processing, securities data maintenance, securities & cash reconciliations, securities valuations.
  • 5 years of experience in the use of Front-to Middle office or Middle-to-Back Office platforms offering IBOR/ABOR functionalities (SimCorp Dimension, SS&C HiPortfolio, Calypso, Blackrock Aladdin, Bloomberg AIMS…).
  • 5 years of experience in the Financial Services sector, specifically in the Investment Management, Funds Services or Securities Services industry including knowledge of investment strategies and markets and understanding of security types (including derivatives).
  • Knowledge of the English language is required.
  • Competent and sufficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc…).
  • Proven ability to work independently in a high stress, time sensitive environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in decision-making and analytical abilities.
  • Knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to learn, complex derivative securities.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on SimCorp Dimension for IBOR/ABOR functionalities.
  • Experience supporting US 40 Act Fund Accounting activities.
  • Advanced competency with market data applications (Bloomberg) and Excel.
  • Good understanding of the Front-to-Back Office functions and workflows within Investment Management & Funds Services industry.
  • Experience working in international environment and with different locations.
