Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga’a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.As a member of the Brucejack family, we put your health, comfort, and safety first. The committee also plans holiday decorations, charity raffles, and outdoor events, helping create a warm and friendly community.Your ImpactAs a Miner 1 – Longhole Driller at Newmont’s Brucejack Mine, you will play a key role in underground mining operations, ensuring safe and efficient drilling, loading, and blasting activities. You will progress through the company’s miner training program, gaining new skills and contributing to a strong safety culture.As Part of Our Team, You Will:

  • Operate underground mobile equipment, including personnel carriers, boom trucks, scoops, and production drills.
  • Conduct underground drilling, loading, and blasting while following safety regulations.
  • Identify and address workplace hazards, ensuring safe mining operations.
  • Mentor and support new miners, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and assist with underground infrastructure installations.

Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of underground longhole drilling experience.
  • Strong understanding of underground mining practices and safety regulations.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment is preferred.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

Your Work Environment

  • Ability to work in a remote camp on a 13 days on / 13 days off rotation. Remote mining camp with provided accommodations, meals, and recreational facilities.
  • Exposure to extreme weather conditions and underground environments.
  • Required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Pre-employment medical screening and drug/alcohol testing required.

This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
