In this role, you will use your 8-12 years of experience to lead the collection of biological data, wetland delineations, and ecological surveys. You will prepare environmental reports and permit applications for federal, state, and local government agencies.   • Assist, interpret, and conduct field assessments; including, wetland delineations, stream surveys, fish, reptile and amphibian surveys, and habitat assessments for rare, threatened or endangered flora and fauna
  • Execute all required permitting for unique projects in ranging complexity across the southeast that may include local, state, and federal guidelines
  • Collect chemical and biological data including sampling of surface water, sediment, macroinvertebrates, soil, groundwater, etc. for purposes of site assessment and/or to support risk assessment projects
  • Support existing GHD clients with the implementation of efficient and innovative solutions to address their project needs
  • Coordinate technical projects: maintaining client happiness while ensuring projects are delivered safely and within scope, schedule, and budget
  • Contribute, internally, across the Americas to support the Natural Resources Market
  • Establish and develop strategic long-term relationships with current clients, new clients and prospective teaming partners

What you will bring to the team:

  • Ideal candidate is committed to working safely, across small and large teams, is comfortable working outdoors, mentoring our staff, and engaging with existing clients while helping develop new clients
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Biology, Ecology, Zoology or other related field
  • Around 10 years of professional environmental experience (i.e., stream, wetland, and environmental surveys, sampling, permitting, etc.)
  • Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification strongly preferred
  • Experience with NEPA EA/EIS
  • Familiarity with local, state and federal environmental regulations and permitting requirements
  • Able and willing to travel to job sites as needed for field activities
