Network EngineerManchesterHybrid workingJob Summary:We are looking for a highly skilled Linux Network Engineer based in Manchester. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and maintain our network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.Key Responsibilities:
- Network Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and manage complex network solutions that meet business requirements and objectives.
- Kubernetes: Manage and maintain Kubernetes clusters, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Linux: Administer and optimize Linux-based systems, ensuring seamless integration with network infrastructure.
- OpenStack: Deploy and manage OpenStack environments, providing scalable and efficient cloud solutions.
- Software-Defined Networking (SDN): Implement and manage SDN solutions to enhance network flexibility, scalability, and automation.
- Network Security: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect network infrastructure from threats and vulnerabilities.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for network-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams and departments to ensure seamless integration and operation of network systems.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, RHCE) are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with a strong background in Kubernetes, Linux, OpenStack, network design, and SDN.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in designing and managing complex network infrastructures.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Expertise in Linux administration and optimization.
- Hands-on experience with OpenStack deployment and management.
- In-depth understanding of SDN technologies and implementations.
- Familiarity with network security best practices and tools.
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
