Overall Purpose Of The Job

The Nurse Practitioner manages and leads the day-to-day operations of the clinic.

We are presently staffing for PRN Nurse Practitioners to provide casual coverage at one of our industrial client sites in the Holly Springs, NC area for both day and night shift requirements. Coverage opportunities are available for both weekdays as well as weekends. Candidates must be local to the area and able to commute.

Key Responsibilities

  • Aid in the management of occupational case rehabilitation, therapy and return to work in coordination with the designated ES&H Manager;
  • Prescribes medications within the statutory and regulatory standards, limits and conditions for Nurse Practitioners and within applicable employer policies and procedures. Applies knowledge of pharmacology and evidence-based practice in selecting, prescribing, administering and monitoring the effects of drugs to treat medical conditions or injuries.
  • Use the Electronic Medical Records Systems as required and ensure accuracy and maintenance of all medical records. Regular audits are to be conducted on the medical records
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting at clinic as a Clinical Nurse Team Leader /NP level as required;
  • Monitor the status of Project personnel hospitalized in regional facilities
  • Ensure clinic is managed according to the highest quality standards (industry best practices) and complies with Client procedures and applicable health standards;
  • Ensure that health care is delivered in accordance with the Contract
  • Ensure the main clinic dispensary is properly secured and a pharmacy management program is in place and implemented. Procedure to include both expired scheduled drugs and OTC drugs disposal;
  • Implement and manage clinic operating procedures;
  • Lead and participate in scheduled meetings as required;
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly clinic activity reports;
  • Implementation of Jobsite health plans and preventative medicine activities as required, including, and not limited to, health promotion educational activities, well-being programs and mental health well-being programs.
  • Coordinate stocking and control of medications and medical supplies;
  • Leads and participates in continuous education and professional development through case presentations, mentoring, role modeling and facilitating the exchange of knowledge in the classroom, the clinical setting and the community; fosters effective health care partnerships.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date roster and transmitting to Medical Services Coordinator when changes are made;
  • Monitor the reporting activities of the medical facilities to ensure that all necessary reports are maintained according to schedule.

This includes and is not limited to:
– Daily, weekly and monthly totals for facility visits;
– Trends in presentations to clinic;
– Top five diagnoses per month;
– Medical staffing changes;
– Key issues occurring on Jobsite per month; and
– Wellbeing and Mental Health Wellbeing programs conducted
– Other reporting issues as required

Required Skills & Knowledge

Required Competencies

  • Understanding of Occupational Health Standards and Regulations

Required Work Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in emergency medicine, triage and treatment
  • Post Graduate Occupational Health qualification or significant experience (preferred)

Required Qualifications

  • Appropriately licensed, qualified, and registered to practice in the state of North Carolina
  • Be current and certified in Advanced Life Support protocols;

Required Languages

  • Excellent written and oral English
