  • To ensure outstanding levels of care are provided to the Individuals living within the service by monitoring and improving the clinical expertise of all clinical staff (Carers, HCAs, SHCAs and Nurses) within the home by means of assessing competencies and facilitating training within the service.

Main duties of the job

  • To support mandatory training function across Centres by supporting the management team to allocate staff for daily sessions, maintaining accurate training records and encouraging training attendance.
  • To provide safe and competent training to facilitate the transition of staff development from Carer to Senior Healthcare Assistant through the completion of their Tracheostomy, Suctioning, Ventilator and Cough Assist competencies, following organisational career progression pathways.

Duties & Responsibilities:We are growing our training team and are now looking for a Nurse Trainer for Highfield House in Purley. The successful candidates must be individuals with the motivation and drive to improve patient care and demonstrate Fairlie Healthcares Core Values in their daily work.

  • To support mandatory training function across Centres by supporting the management team to allocate staff for daily sessions, maintaining accurate training records and encouraging training attendance.
  • To provide safe and competent training to facilitate the transition of staff development from Carer to Senior Healthcare Assistant through the completion of their Tracheostomy, Suctioning, Ventilator and Cough Assist competencies, following organisational career progression pathways.
  • Work with Director of Clinical Services and L&D Manager to review, develop and implement competency documents relating to clinical competencies and clinical training pathways relevant to the need of the service and in line with current practices.
  • To ensure clinical staff (Carers, HCAs, SHCAs and Nurses) are trained, skilled and competent to provide high quality care in relation to the delegated tasks within the scope of their roles and other health needs of the Individuals living within the service, all the while, by preserving their privacy and dignity.
  • Seek out learning opportunities essential to the development of the employees within Fairlie Healthcare by signposting resources and actively planning learning opportunities, internal or external for all staff groups.
