What you’ll do

  • Promote risk reduction, occupational injury and disease prevention, and examine compliance with focused requirements of the WCA and the OHSR.
  • Engage with stakeholders to create and implement sustainable OHS practices, build stakeholder capacity and promote safety ownership and culture to positively impact workplace OHS knowledge, abilities, motivations, and behaviours.
  • Analyze health and safety risk assessments, conduct educational presentations, consultation activities, and respond to requests for information, both directly to stakeholders and in support of Prevention Officers, OHS Consultants, and Prevention Services overall.
  • Collaborate with Prevention Officers and OHS Consultants in planning and conducting education, consultation, inspection, and other related Prevention activities.
  • Conduct targeted activities relating to the analysis of various forms of information to assist in planning and conducting employer consultations

  • Be available at irregular business hours Monday to Friday (B shift)
  • Travel, as this role requires regular local and overnight travel
  • Drive, this position requires an unrestricted BC Driver’s License
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Your background and experience

  • A Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety
  • A minimum of 2 years of working experience including 1 year of H&S experience
