As the subject matter expert, the Onboarding Advisor regularly liases with stakeholders across the organization to understand their needs, and implements strategies to improve the employee experience and transition into their new roles.This Onboarding Advisor will support in designing onboarding activities that foster a positive employee experience and promote a sense of belonging within our organization aligning with Providence Health Care’s values & culture.Qualifications / Skills and EducationEducation:

  • University degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.

Experience:

  • Seven (7) years of recent related onboarding and recruitment experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Project Management experience an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian labor laws and HR best practices an asset.

  • Broad knowledge of best recruiting practices and an aptitude for marketing.
  • Skilled computer literacy with word processing, spreadsheet and database programs, such as MS Word, Excel and Access, is required.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and applicant tracking systems.
  • Understanding of HR analytics for data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • A competitive salary: The salary range for this position is between $95,000-$108,000 depending on experience.

Your Day to Day:

  • Leads the implementation and manages the onboarding project plan and project deliverables, by providing oversight and guidance on the build-out of onboarding processes and develop risk management plans as needed.

Organizes and facilitates new employee orientation sessions. * Consults with stakeholders in People Services and other departments to develop needs analyses for the onboarding and orientation programs.

  • Collects feedback from multiple sources and researches best practices for onboarding; provide oversight and recommendations.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert to business leadership, hiring managers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Leads focus groups to determine what education, assistance, scheduling, and initiatives are favorable for different streams of onboarding, including: new hires, executives, promotions and transfers. Works with subject matter experts to ensure all information provided in onboarding and orientation is appropriate, up-to-date and relevant.
  • Monitors, reviews, and identifies progress and gaps in the program; identifies where programs overlap with other Talent Recruitment initiatives and programs to ensure alignment.
  • Develops and implements a variety of methods to collect feedback and ideas; maintains data integrity and draft annual action plans based on data.
  • Maintains and continuously improves orientation through participant feedback, stakeholder feedback, and leadership consultation.
  • Leads continuous improvement and check-in meetings with cross-functional work groups to gather feedback and advice on continuous improvement.
  • Researches technology and tools to enhance onboarding and orientation, working in collaboration with Talent Recruitment.
  • Acts as a resource to client groups by providing input towards onboarding activities, strategies, and client-specific needs.
  • Develops good working relationships and consults with subject matter experts in various business areas that supports the onboarding processes.
  • Train staff in supporting organization and department specific onboarding, administration, and technology to ensure consistent and best practices are adhered to.
  • Performs ongoing support for the purpose of monitoring, providing feedback, assisting with complex issues, resolving problems, and considering improvements.
