We are a recruiting for a dynamic and inclusive school dedicated to fostering creativity, collaboration, and outdoor learning for our students. As part of our commitment to enriching children’s educational experiences, we are seeking a passionate and proactive Opal Play Leader to champion outdoor play and learning through the OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) framework.The Role
As an Opal Play Leader, you will play a pivotal role in developing and leading engaging, inclusive, and imaginative play opportunities during school break times. You will inspire creativity, teamwork, and resilience in students while fostering an environment where outdoor play is valued and celebrated.Key Responsibilities
- Design and facilitate a diverse range of outdoor play activities, ensuring inclusivity for all children.
- Promote the values and principles of the OPAL framework within the school community.
- Supervise and engage with children during playtimes, promoting safety and positive behaviours.
- Train and support staff and pupils in enhancing play opportunities.
- Collaborate with the school leadership team to evaluate and improve play strategies.
- Maintain and organize play resources and equipment, ensuring sustainability and accessibility.
About You
We are looking for a creative, energetic, and enthusiastic individual with a passion for child-led play and outdoor learning.Essential Skills and Qualities:
- A genuine love for working with children and a commitment to their development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to foster an inclusive and positive play environment.
- Resourceful, proactive, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- An understanding of the importance of outdoor play in child development.
Desirable:
- Experience in a similar role or working in a school setting.
- Knowledge of the OPAL framework or a willingness to undergo training.
- First Aid training and/or relevant safeguarding qualifications.
