Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Operations Director for our client, a global Nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing access to justice, streamlining legal procedures, and ensuring fair and timely outcomes for all involved parties. This is an exciting, fully remote, direct-hire opportunity.As the Operations Director you will collaborate with the leadership team to build out SOP’s and help the organization grow and scale to best benefit operations.RESPONSIBILITIES:Operations Management: Review, draft, and oversee compliance with policies and procedures to satisfy legal requirements and donor regulations. Recommend and implement maintenance of technology and systems, ensuring optimal and secure software and systems in coordination with security consultants. Identify ways to improve IT and systems functionality and train staff. Oversee procurement of goods and services in line with grant regulations. Ensure timely filing of required registrations and forms in compliance with agency requirements. Oversee risk management, travel, and security arrangements. Promote efficiency by implementing improved operational procedures aligned with the organization’s mission.Financial Management: Develop and oversee compliance with Standard Operating Procedures to meet funding requirements, including managing subgrants, travel, procurement, and cash controls. Collaborate with the Finance Director on financial planning, budgeting, and audit preparation. Contribute to audit completion and secure NICRA for funding. Ensure quality control related to fiscal data and prepare fiscal reports for donors.Human Resources Management: Oversee all HR functions, including hiring, review policies, compensation, and benefits. Assure compliance with employment laws and regulations. Develop and update personnel policies and procedures. Oversee integration of new personnel and training on policies. Supervise administrative staff and volunteers, manage compensation and benefits changes, and facilitate employee conversations.Leadership and Management:
Participate in strategic planning. Develop leadership opportunities for staff. Provide high-level leadership to the Administration team, including effective delegation and feedback. Promote an organizational culture centered on high engagement, communication, and performance.REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of ten years’ operational and fiscal experience in international NGO settings.
- Master’s degree in a related field OR Bachelor’s degree plus five additional years of experience.
- Proficiency in long-term strategic planning and collaboration with Executive Director and Board.
- Strong background in overseeing day-to-day operations, including administration, budgeting, and HR.
- Solid financial management skills, including planning, budgeting, and compliance with donor funds.
- Alignment with organization’s values and commitment to rule of law and social justice principles.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
