Operations Manager – 30 hours p/w – Gateshead – salary up to £36,000 (£45,000 FTE)

We’re working with a housing organisation based in Gateshead who’re looking for an Operations Manager to join their team!

As an operations manager you will be responsible for detailed planning of company operations in line with the overarching company strategic plan, and overseeing company operations are executed accordingly.

Main responsibilities:

  • Supervising the day-to-day operations of the company, adapting to changes as needed for effective functioning.
  • Managing staff, currently one part-time Business Support Officer, and ensuring they fulfill their designated responsibilities.
  • Assisting the Managing Director in Company Governance, including the development and periodic update of company policies.
  • Coordinating pre-construction work, including procuring surveys, conducting pre-development inquiries, and submitting planning applications.
  • Working with contractors to ensure a comprehensive handover, verifying all documentation is accurate.
  • Overseeing the sales and marketing approach for new homes.

Requirements

  • Degree Qualified, ideally in a field related to construction management, quantity surveying, property surveying, engineering, architectural design or planning.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced organisation where you have had to multi-task and prioritise to meet deadlines
  • A minimum of three years in a post related to asset management and/or new homes delivery.
  • Experience of working closely with senior people in an organisation e.g. MD, CEO etc.
  • High level of administrative skills
  • Great attention to detail – delivers tasks to a high standard
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills – from dealing with customer complaints to regular contact with contractors
  • Flexible in their approach to work and must have a can-do attitude
  • Project Management skills
  • Full clean UK driving license and access to a car which can be used for work.
