In your role as the Optical Assistant, you will supports optical operations through accurate and efficient distribution of prescription eyewear, data entry, inventory management, optical center maintenance and excellence in customer service.

Your Role:

  • Administrative duties with a keen attention to detail for keeping records and scheduling of appointments;
  • Assisting with preparation and pretest procedures;
  • Assisting patients with frame selections;
  • Some adjustments and repairing of frames ;
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to multi task;
  • Computer competency (to learn our optical operating system);
  • Ability to maintain patients’ confidentiality and;
  • Excellent communication skills.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • A certificate or diploma in an optical related program is an asset;
  • Previous medical office, general office and/or retail experience is an asset;
  • Must have strong verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service;
  • Must possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated knowledge with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook and Electronic Medical Records;
  • Above average oral and written communication skills;
  • Preference given to bilingual-Inuktitut.

Wage range: $18-$20 (depending on education and experience)
