The Outage Manager works collaboratively with the Fleet Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams to plan outage work scope, prepare outage budgets, and manage and schedule resources during outage planning and execution.Major Responsibilities:Develop outage specific planning milestones and budgets in collaboration with the Plant Management, Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Supply Chain Management, and Asset Management teamsWork collaboratively with stakeholders to coordinate and schedule fleet maintenance resources for the planning and execution of outagesLiaise and coordinate with OEM personnel during outage planning and executionProvide oversight and outage management during the execution of outages to ensure adherence to schedule and approved budgetEnsure compliance to all health, safety, and environment procedures during outage executionProvide progress and cost reporting during outage executionEnsure post outage lessons learned assessments are completed and incorporated into the outage planning and execution procedureProvide unplanned outage support/management as required/requested by Plant ManagementEducation:Mechanical Engineering Degree or Red Seal Journeyman ticket will be considered an assetProject Management Professional (PMP) designation is desiredQualifications:5 years of outage or project management experience in a heavy industryExpert knowledge of maintenance processes and programsFamiliarity with heavy industry planning, scheduling and execution conceptsWorking knowledge of and experience with IBM Maximo, Primavera and outage scheduling reportingKnowledge of power plant equipment disassembly/reassembly techniques, particularly gas turbine, steam turbine, and heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) componentsExperience in outage execution management, including managing to key milestones to ensure safe and on timely completion of work scopeExperience interfacing with contract craft personnel and equipment manufacturer field representativesProven experience and comfort managing multiple large projects concurrentlyExperience with detailed cost tracking, cost projections, and budgeting as well as detailed planning, scheduling, work order development, and other work process controlsExperience and knowledge of power plant maintenance best practicesStrong computer skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS-ProjectCompetencies:High level of personal accountability and integritySelf-motivated with the ability to handle multiple tasks under pressureStrong organizational skills with an attention to detailExcellent written, verbal and presentation skillsDemonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
