UC San Diego Health’s Infusion pharmacy is seeking a highly motivated pharmacist to work in a position covering the ambulatory oncology infusion dispensing areas of Moores Cancer Center and Koman Outpatient Pavilion infusion. The UC San Diego Health Moores Cancer Center unites the Cancer Center’s clinical enterprise (including a tumor registry, magnetic resonance imaging, and radiation oncology) with basic, clinical, translational, and cancer prevention research. This position will review and verify chemotherapy regimens and oversee chemotherapy admixtures and dispensing. Serve as a preceptor to pharmacy residents and students as assigned; participate in Medical Center, Cancer Center and Department of Pharmacy committees and promote institution-wide medication use policy. Provide progressive pharmaceutical care services for the oncology patients.

Depending on experience of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the Stf Pharm1 or Stf Pharm2. Less than four (4) years experience qualifies as Stf Pharm1; Four (4) + years of experience qualifies as Stf Pharm2.

• Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree; or equivalent clinical experience.

• Registered Pharmacist issued by the state of California (RPH).

• Pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience.

• Knowledge of pharmacy state and federal regulations.

• Demonstrated experience in the area of hematology/oncology.

• Proven knowledge of solid tumors, hematology and common treatments.

• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and counseling skills.

• Must be able to educate, monitor, order, and follow labs for patients on chemotherapy regimens.

• PGY2 Oncology Residency.
• Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP).
• Prior experience in Inpatient Pharmacy or Ambulatory Infusion Center setting.
• Prior experience in Oncology Pharmacy setting.

• Hours are variable (8 to 10 hours shifts) including weekends and rotating holidays (up to every other), coverage for sick calls and vacation.
• Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and various locations based on the Medical Center’s business needs.
• Must be willing to rotate to all pharmacy areas/sites.
• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $174,390 – $196,356 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $83.52 – $94.04

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
