TitleOUTREACH MEDICAL TEAM LEADER

Location: Mosul Project(s)

 

Main Purpose:

Supporting the Project Medical Referent by coordinating outreach activities and managing administrative tasks. This involves overseeing and monitoring medical activities in Al Ubor and mobile clinics, ensuring they adhere to MSF protocols and medical standards. The goal is to deliver quality medical care and enhance health conditions for the targeted population

Accountabilities

 

•             Monitoring, supervising and evaluating the implementation of General consultation activities in the project, and participating in defining the human resources needs, materials and techniques. Assisting in the implementation of MSF protocols, (para) medical standards, the rules of hygiene and universal precautions in service.

•             Ensuring medical follow up of patients (treatment, improvement) in collaboration with the medical referent of the health structure and overseeing all medical expenses associated with the patient, in collaboration with the supervisors. Organize the administrative and medical information (reports, ongoing treatments), the discharge of patients and return to their homes

•             Supporting and supervising the General consultation teams and participating in the management of the medical team in the capital (recruitment, training, monitoring their work, vacation planning, assessments, etc.). Participating in briefings and debriefings of the (para) medical team members and promoting communication and active participation in the development of the project

•             Participating in the management of the end user pharmacy, advising and guiding the logistics team in the mission of drug stock management. Organizing the start-up, inventory and management of operational medical library according to the classification plan

•             Participating in the data collection and management from the projects as well as preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports and organizing · data archiving and medical reports in the project

•             In coordination with the log/ biomedical service supervising the appropriate use of medical devices and anticipating and communicating future needs.

•        Ensuring all administrative procedures and documents (individual patient’s file and registration book, discharge paper, transfer paper, etc.) and existing data management tools are used correctly.

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities

1.             Managing Outreach Activities:

·    Overseeing general medical activities in Al Ubor and mobile clinics

·    Ensuring data collection, analysis and reporting on outreach activities

·    Notify the PMR or PC of any rumour and challenges that delay or affect the implementation of MSF outreach activities.

2.     Team Coordination:

·    Guiding and coordinating the team of doctors, nurses and Aid-nurse.

·    Planning and organizing all Med and Nurses related activities (OPD, etc.) and participating in the definition of annual planning and update of its associated

·     budget in order to efficiently maintain the continuity of the standard quality healthcare

·    When needed, being responsible for scheduling duty rosters, shifts and on call of Med / paramed staff.

·    Conducting regular team meetings.

·    Support team members development needs.

3.     Adherence to Guidelines:

·    Ensuring adherence to MSF medical guidelines.

4.     Collaboration:

·    Working with other healthcare professionals.

·    Collaborating with Department of Health (DoH) authorities.

·    Collaborating with the referral hospitals

5.     Patient Care:

·    Addressing patient concerns.

6.     Resource Management:

·    Managing MSF resources such as pharmacy supplies and stationaries and other logistics.

 

 

    Requirements

 

·        Education:

Essential Medical Doctor diploma or equivalent in a related allied health.

 

·        Experience:

Essential previous working experience of at least two (2) years as Medical Doctor and/or Public Health Specialist.

Desirable training or experience in tropical medicines and/or Public Health with MSF or other NGOs in developing countries.

Desirable Emergency Context experience

 

·        Knowledge:

       Desirable computer literacy (word, excel and internet)

 

·        Language:

       Proficiency in English mission language is essential. Local language “Arabic” essential.
