We have a global presence with production sites on three continents and 14,500 employees from 70 nations.WACKER North America is looking for several highly motivated college students for our 12-week summer internship program at our Innovation Center and regional headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI. We have several internships available in our business teams working on value added chemical related projects.Silicone projects could include the following focus areas:
- Evaluate alternate cartridge suppliers or private label silicones sealants and finished hybrids
- Compare and contrast different types of cartridges from various suppliers based on empty cartridges, filled cartridges, plunge tests, print quality, stress test and more
- This position may involve travel to various cartridge suppliers, our toller, and our toll manufacturing facility.
The internship will include responsibilities such as project innovation, routine lab work, product sampling, production testing, product & data analysis of silicone products to better understand their chemical behavior and market applicability.Position Qualifications:
- Currently a rising sophomore or higher and attending school to obtain a college degree in the field of Packaging Engineer, Packaging Sciences or a related field.
- Available full-time in-person commitment (Monday through Friday) from May 19th through August 8th
- Ability to follow safety procedures
- Basic laboratory skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Ability to understand and extrapolate data
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Effective time-management abilities
- Ability to positively present our company
