- A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic registered children’s nurse to work within the Paediatric Gastroenterology team.
- The post holders’ primary responsibility will be managing and supporting a caseload of patients with IBD across the GESH site, they will also support the Gastroenterology team with the general caseload as required.
- The post holder will be expected to coordinate the provision of this service throughout the children’s directorate, assessing and supervising the needs of children across the GESH site.
- They will also develop, implement, and evaluate appropriate programmes of care.
- They will be expected to act as a role model and work with the multidisciplinary team within the directorate ensuring that a high standard of holistic care is maintained for all patients and their families.
- The Paediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease CNS will support children and their families across the GESH site, which will require the post holder to travel and work at different hospital locations depending on clinical requirements.

- Evidence of on-going dynamic continuing professional development within the specialty linked to demonstrable clinical competencies

- Experience of caring for CYP with gastroenterology disorders
- Working as an effective member of an MDT.
- Evidence of experience in managing patients under Gastro-intestinal investigation.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – verbal and written.
- Organisational and leadership skills. Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the CYP’s care according to their individual needs.
- Able to teach CYP, families, carers and the MDT about the care of children with gastro-enterology disorders.
- Able to build effective relationships with clinicians and managers at all levels.

- Phlebotomy and cannulation skills
