The Royal Horseguards is a stunning 5 star hotel overlooking the River Thames, close to The Embankment and Trafalgar Square. The hotel has 282 bedrooms, restaurant, bar and terrace area as well as exceptional banqueting facilities at one of London’s most prestigious conference and banqueting venues, One Whitehall Place.
The Role
We are looking for people who are passionate about hospitality and great service to join our Repairs & Maintenance team. As a Maintenance Painter & Decorator you will have the opportunity to contribute towards a wonderful guest experience by maintaining the fixtures and fittings of the building and ensuring our high standards of maintenance and upkeep are followed. You will need to be proactive in ensuring any emergencies are dealt with immediately and be able to do your best work whilst remaining cool and calm under pressure.
What we look for
- Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
- Apply paint, stain and other finishes to property walls, ceilings, and furniture using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.
- Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water and/or abrasive blasting.
- Cover surfaces with appropriate material for protection during painting and post appropriate paint signs.
- Clean up and store paint and painting tools and equipment in appropriate areas.
- Perform all surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement and the complete and thorough cleanup of the painting or repair area.
