SalaryThe salary range for this position is CAD $65.54/Hr. – CAD $94.22/Hr.SummaryWith the opening of the new Integrated Youth Services Collaboration Centre IYSCC we are seeking a Pan Canadian Director IYSCC to help achieve the goal of improved mental health care for youth and families across the country.Reporting to the Co-Executive Director, Foundry, the Pan-Canadian Director, Integrated Youth Services Collaboration Centre (IYS-CC)

  • Manages key priorities including Pan-Canadian and international partnerships, Pan-Canadian and international knowledge mobilization for the IYS-Collaboration Centre.
  • Provides leadership and expertise in developing and implementing the Integrated Youth Service (IYS) model; further developing the communities of practice including IYS practitioners, peers, engagement staff, backbone leadership etc.
  • Implements a workforce development and practice support program; developes and mobilizing IYS knowledge products, including guides, manuals, policies, journal articles and digital assets; and negotiates and implements memoranda of understanding with pan-Canadian partners.
  • Provides ongoing consultative support to jurisdictions across Canada interested in adopting Integrated Youth Services models. Represents IYS-CC at Pan-Canadian and international working groups, conferences and presentations and builds strong partnerships with governments and nonprofits in all regions.
  • Establishes key working relationships include Pan-Canadian Director IYS-CC with the Centre For Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), Integrated Youth Services Collaboration Centre (IYS-CC), members of the IYS-CC team, senior and mid-level government and non-profit sector representatives across Canada and international.
  • Develops/manages initiative related budget and expenditures, leads selected projects, strengthens relationships and policy development with the provincial/territorial and federal governments, system partners and the Pan-Canadian network, and provides leadership and direction to own staff.

What You BringEducation, Training and Experience
Master’s degree in Public Administration, Health Administration, Indigenous Health, Non-Profit Management, or a relevant discipline plus ten (10) years’ of recent, related experience in progressively senior leadership roles related to systems integration, Child and Youth Mental Health, or a related field in a non-profit, government, healthcare, Indigenous (First Nations, Metis, Urban Indigenous) or academic setting or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Education, training or experience related to policy development, adult education, knowledge translation and mobilization, project management, communications, change leadership, or engagement with youth, families, clients or patients are assets. Previous experience working within or in partnership with Indigenous organizations or communities is an asset.
Willingness and ability to travel within Canada. Valid BC driver’s license is required.Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability in leading and participating in consultations, meetings and presentations with internal and external stakeholders/partners; working with senior leaders and other senior professionals.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous Cultural Safety and Humility, Calls to Action from Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Pan-Canadian and provincial policy and programs related to Integrated Youth Services, Child and Youth Mental Health, Adult Mental Health and/or Substance Use Services.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in meaningful ways with client groups including youth, families, or clients to improve health and/or social sector programs and outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, inspiring and engaging others and promoting change behaviours.
  • Effective facilitation skills and the ability to motivate and influence stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability in researching, analyzing, developing and delivering complex policy initiatives and program reforms.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills to ensure a working environment that supports effective project delivery.
  • Strong interpersonal and dispute-resolution skills to effectively deal with a variety of stakeholders both internal and external to the organization.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address complex and diverse systems, which could have a significant impact on client care.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team to organize and prioritize workload in a complex environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing at various levels of the organization including the ability to deliver presentations.
  • Ability to operate related equipment, including relevant computer applications.

Your Day to Day:the Pan-Canadian IYSCC Director

  • Provides leadership in the development and operationalization of the Integrated Youth Services Collaboration Centre, a Pan-Canadian backbone team for existing, emerging, or proposed networks of integrated youth service centres/hubs in Canadian provinces or territories.
  • Provides leadership in the establishment of the IYS strategic leadership table and ongoing development of the Pan-Canadian communities of practice, and related regional networks, advisory groups, and project teams.
  • Implements a workforce development and practice support program to support increased capacity for the delivery and implementation of evidence-based and wise practice for IYS audiences including clinicians, peer support workers and allied staff.
  • Implements a knowledge exchange and mobilization program to support increased capacity for the delivery and implementation of evidence-based and wise practices for IYS Pan-Canadian audiences, including implementers, planners, policy makers, clinicians, peer support workers, youth and families, etc.

As per the MOU with the Canadian Mental Health Association, the following responsibilities will be conducted in collaboration:

  • Develops strategic partnerships and alliances across Canada and internationally with government, organization and philanthropic partners to increase the reach and impact of Integrated Youth Services and ongoing efforts in advancing IYS.
  • Develops, engages and coordinates the management of ongoing relationships with new and existing partners including government officials, youth health and social service organizations, Indigenous communities and organizations, youth and families, and where relevant, leverage those relationships to greater collective impact.
  • Leads, develops and implements strategies, initiatives and policy projects at the IYS-CC to advance Integrated Youth Services overarching vision, goals and objectives and more broadly, to elevate the IYS profile and impact as a leader in youth mental health.
  • Leads and facilitates strategic collaborative policy projects/joint initiatives with key members across the IYS pan-Canadian network and with external partners/ stakeholders to address complex system and access issues facing young people and families.
  • Aligns IYS-CC strategy and policy with Federal governmental policy goals and priorities; strategize with key partners including the Graham Boeckh Foundation to align strategic priorities as well as efforts to engage the Federal government.
  • Shapes the direction and development of policy related to agreed strategic aims; identify opportunities for joint policy work across the sector within Canada and internationally (e.g., policy forum).
  • Leads, develops and implements processes for strategic priority setting (e.g., advisory); establish and implement steering committee structures for IYS-CC.
  • Conceptualizes new strategic initiatives that could be built around or benefit from corporate, foundation, government, bilateral organizations or other partnerships to expand the scope of the IYS-CC and the funding opportunities.
  • Leads negotiations to develop formal agreements including MOUs and Collaboration Agreements.
  • Creates the infrastructure, policies and processes to share learning with partners and stakeholders across Canada. This includes sharing knowledge and identification of joint policy or initiatives with international partners.
  • Provides advice, guidance and consultative services to other jurisdictions on cross-system integration, the development and implementation of IYS and strategic perspectives on policies, programs and long-range strategic planning.
  • Represents IYS-CC as member of Pan-Canadian and international conferences, working groups and coalitions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
