Job Title: Part-Time Evening Restaurant HostLocation: Mid CornwallHours: 3 to 4 evenings per week, 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM- 16 hours per weekHourly Rate of pay up to £14.00 (DOE) Role Summary:As a Part-Time evening restaurant Host, you will play a pivotal role in providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests during busy evenings. Key Responsibilities: Greet guests as they arrive at the restaurant with a warm and welcoming demeanour. Manage guest reservations efficiently, utilising the restaurant’s reservation system (e.g., ResDiary) with ease and accuracy. Seat guests promptly and appropriately, considering table availability, server sections, and special requests. Assist guests with any enquiries they may have regarding the menus or restaurant facilities. Communicate effectively with the bar and waiting staff and on duty management to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction. Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally and escalate to management when necessary. Collaborate with other team members to create a positive work environment and contribute to the overall success of the restaurant.Requirements: Previous experience working in a high-quality, fast-paced restaurant environment is essential. Familiarity with reservation management systems such as ResDiary is preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused approach. Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure while multitasking effectively. Flexibility with evening shifts and availability to work 3 to 4 evenings per week, rota can be issued 4 weeks in advance, Friday & Saturday evenings will be required each week with Sunday as a guaranteed day off each week. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
