We want a part-time teacher to lead our alternative provision, ‘The Glade.’ The Glade is a place in the school for our wonderful pupils with significant ASD needs.Four children are in here full time and another seven access it at varying points during the day.We can be flexible with the hours that you work to suit your needs. For example, it could be two full days, or varying hours across a number of days.This is also an opportunity for someone who wishes to work more than the 2 days required. The additional time would be as a teacher in a mainstream class.You do not need to be an expert in this field, but we do need someone with an open mind and a willingness to learn. This will be a challenging, but an incredibly rewarding role in which you will be well supported by a leadership team committed to inclusion.You will be leading two enthusiastic and competent LSA’s who currently run this provision and are passionate about meeting the needs of these children.We would advise a visit to the school to see the amazing children and staff you will be working with.Website:About the roleSpecific to the Glade Leader role
- Plan, create and deliver a curriculum that is meaningful for the children within our alternative provision (The Glade)
- Work with class teachers of the Glade children, to effectively deliver interventions as outlined by EHCPs.
- Effectively assess the children to identify individual strengths and gaps in order to tailor provision to ensure good progress is made.
- Lead and support the Glade LSAs to deliver effective provision.
- Seek and use opportunities to work collaboratively with colleagues to raise SEN standards, by sharing effective practice in the school.
- To develop own practice to ensure Glade children have access to the best possible education.

- Knowledge and understanding The class teacher should have knowledge and understanding of:

- statutory National Curriculum requirements at the appropriate key stage; the monitoring, assessment, recording and reporting of pupils’ progress;
- the statutory requirements of legislation concerning Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, SEN and Child
