- Validate and monitor the Trust’s performance against the Referral to Treatment 18 week waiting times standards, ensuring patients receive treatment within the required timescales through monitoring and auditing elective patient pathways.
- Work as a member of the pathway tracking clinical team acting as a ‘local expert’ on patient pathway RTT 18 week guidance, reporting mechanisms and service improvements that will improve patient experience & facilitate the provision of accessible and high quality care.
- Be key in overseeing RTT 18 week performance management for Urology and Vascular within the TASCC division, providing expertise & support for the delivery & achievement of patient RTT standards.
Pay particular focus to the tracking of outpatient follow-up appointments, introducing robust systems to avoid ‘loss to follow-up’.Main duties of the jobTo work closely with Service Managers, Central Booking Office, Deputy Service Managers, Clinical Office Team Leaders, Appointments Centre, Clinical Office Staff and Outpatient teams, Diagnostic and Therapy Departments across all specialties within the division to ensure patients are actively managed through patient pathways. To monitor patient’s pathways from referral, through diagnostics, treatment planning and treatment, highlighting any potential delays in the pathway and ensuring accurate data collection to support the process and report to clinical offices any discrepancies. To ensure that appropriate requests for investigations are monitored following the clinician’s instructions. To work with clinical offices in developing, implementing and monitoring changes to the patient pathway tracking/validating process and supporting improvement activities as required.To maintain up to date knowledge of all standards, targets and processes relating to the patient pathway process and to be a point of reference for administrative teams across the Trust.To provide, local training and support to other staff within the Trust regarding Referral to Treatment rules, processes and procedures.To adhere to the Trusts Joint Access Policy and related national RTT Frameworks.
