SUMMARY OF THE POSITION :Recognized for the quality of its products and services, the Old Port of Montréal Corporation (OPMC) manages a vast recreational and cultural site at the crossroads between a city and its river. Through the development of the Old Port site and the Montréal Science Centre, the Corporation actively participates in the development of the city. A dynamic and diversified place awaits you!The Paymaster is responsible for payroll management, all statutory and benefit payments, and payroll accounting. Payroll under his supervision is bi-weekly for approximately 300 unionized and non-unionized employees.RESPONSIBILITIES :Payroll processing
- Administer bi-weekly payroll for 300 union and non-union employees;
- Process all payroll transactions (input, payroll deductions, remittances, reports, etc.).
- Perform the required verifications to ensure that all timesheets are correctly entered. Analyze potential problems and make changes as required.
- Enter timesheets for all employees, including discretionary deductions.
- Reconcile audit trail and timesheets. Executes, submits or receives payroll transactions for exchanges with ADP.
- As required, supports the verification of timesheets for other CLC divisions, including discretionary and tip deductions.
Administration
- Maintain payroll filing systems, maintain monthly statistical reports and oversee the maintenance of CNESST records
- Maintain electronic filing system, where applicable, filing paperwork.
- Manage and update monthly tracking systems, including reconciling CRA accounts and vacation lists.
- Process and track payments made monthly with the CNESST.
- Participate in month-end and year-end operations and compilation of statistical reports, statements and summaries as required.
- Coordinate the year-end processing of all payroll taxes for the company including T4 summary, T4, Rev1, T2200 statements.
- Perform month-end hourly payroll duties (journal entries) including required entries in the JDE E1 system.
- Calculate monthly FTE headcount for the Old Port of Montreal Corporation
- Process new employee, termination and transfer data as approved by the department.
- Verify that vacation entitlements are adequate.
- Performs a variety of other administrative duties.
- Respond to manager questions as a super user of ADP Workforce Now and may be called upon to provide training as needed.
- Assist the Human Resources department in creating and producing ad hoc reports.
- Facilitate the processing of confidential information requests.
- As required, supports CLC colleagues in the administration of Downsview Park, CN Tower and CLC payroll.
Compliance obligation
- Prepare bi-weekly reports and request transfers or cheques for reimbursement of discretionary payroll deductions (court ordered deductions, union dues, charitable donations, health care premiums, group insurance premiums)
- Prepare monthly reports to Statistics Canada.
- Report monthly payments to CNESST
- Mail Records of Employment (ROE) and respond to Service Canada requests for information.
- File Records of Employment on a bi-weekly basis.
- Complete bi-weekly payroll and monthly payroll accruals in a timely manner;
- Reconcile monthly payroll provisions (vacation, vacations, etc.);
EXPERIENCES & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED :
- 3 years of experience in payroll support.
- College or university degree in business administration, finance, accounting, payroll administration, (or equivalent).
- Experience with ADP’s Workforce Now payroll processing system and timesheets, an asset.
- Membership in the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA), an asset.
- PMCP (Payroll Management Certificate Program) certification, anasset.
- Knowledge of the office suite, particularly Excel (intermediate).
- Knowledge of French and functional English
