This role sits within the Accounts Receivable and Procure to Pay team who are part of the Business Administration Service and are responsible for the payment of all our suppliers invoices for good, works and services.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Dealing with complex queries to resolve payment and recovery issues and system queries
  • Balancing workloads and priorities
  • Dealing with large numbers of suppliers and customers
  • Complexity of different payment processes within ‘procure to pay’.

To succeed in this role you’ll need to be a great communicator along with a real passion for delivering awesome customer service in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. Your ability to remain calm under pressure whilst working to tight deadlines within a team environment will be essential. To be shortlisted for this position your application will clearly evidence how you meet the person specification of the attached job description including:

  • Financial systems experience with excellent numeracy, literacy and IT skills.
  • Ability and experience of communicating clearly and concisely at all levels.
  • Ability to approach work methodically whilst being flexible and prioritising as required.
  • Good Knowledge of financial policies, procedures and regulations and audit processes as relevant to payments and monitoring
  • Ability to analyse financial information
  • Good understanding and operation of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Detailed system knowledge of Finance system payments processes including accounts receivable/payable

We operate flexibly within an agile environment, with laptops supplied by ESCC. Training will be conducted within County Hall, Lewes. We also allow up to 2 days flexi time to be taken, within each month, for additional time worked above the standard 37 hour week.

You will be expected to work a minimum of one day in the office (East Sussex), which may increase where additional training or project work requires.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
